Our skin changes over time due to natural aging processes and external factors like pollution and sun exposure, leading to common signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. These changes are often a result of cellular damage that reduces key skin components like collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. SKINVIVE™, a product used in Europe since 2017, was recently approved for use in the US. What sets SKINVIVE™ apart is its ability to specifically target superficial lines and enhance overall skin quality through improved hydration. With effects lasting between 6 to 9 months, users can look forward to a noticeable improvement in their skin's quality, texture, and a reduction in fine lines.

As with any medical grade aesthetic treatment, bruising can happen. Here are some suggestions to help minimize bruising risk:
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! When you are drinking enough water, your skin is more likely to have proper hydration levels and this supports wound healing. You want to get about 11 cups of water in a day to maintain proper hydration.
Take Arnica 30 C homeopathic tablets 3 pellets, 3 times a day, for 3 days before and after treatment. The evidence does not consistently show that homeopathic arnica is effective, however there are studies showing that it works. Given that arnica is readily available, inexpensive, and safe, it is reasonable to initiate prior-to and after treatment for those who bruise easily or are concerned about bruising.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your treatment. Alcohol makes it harder for the blood to clot which increases bruising risk.
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, and gingko for about one week prior to your treatment. These medications increase bleeding and bruising.

The appointment itself takes about 30 minutes.
We begin with numbing the area of treatment for about 20 minutes. After we cleanse the skin, we begin injecting the treatment area. We use a small needle for injections and place the product superficially in the skin for best results. Bumps that appear from injection are normal and typically resolve within a few hours to days.
Treatment can take 2 weeks to fully integrate, with results seen at about one month and lasting 6 months

You may be sent home with ice. Keep the ice on the treated area throughout the day (10-15 minutes on the hour) to help with any swelling that may occur
Avoid facial treatments for 2 weeks after treatment
Limit exercise for 6 hours post treatment
Avoid the sauna for 24 hours post treatment
Avoid retinol and exfoliating acids for 3 days afterwards
Some clients experience mild side effects such as headache, which typically resolves within a few days.
Keep your head above your heart for 4 hours after treatment.
If you experience severe side effects such as trouble swallowing, breathing, or intense and painful swelling at the injection sites, call 911 immediately.
